Various monitoring intervals starting from 1 hour

Depending on monitored resource and your needs, you may specify different monitoring interval for every single filter. Some web resources are protected from TheWebWatcher
APS system (Abuse Prevention System) which confines the checks for some resources to minimal monitoring interval.

Flexible notification system

The notification system uses notification grid, which allows you to define multiple notification contacts to be alerted for the monitored filters. There is also a 'keep silence' option for every alert contact that will help you to be alerted only in appropriate time frame.

Cached copies of changed pages

If a filter is triggered, TheWebWatcher will make a copy of the page for you. This will help you to revise the changes later and find the needed information even the page is changed meanwhile.

Detailed logs for all checks

Every check is logged to our system, so if you want you can trace the checks log and review the status of the monitored resource for every check.

Support of advanced search operators

When you define a "keyword tracking" in your filter, you can use the power of combining search expressions in four different groups: "with all of the words", "with the exact phrase", "with at least one of the words" and "without the words".

Possibility of defining custom cookies on checks

If the monitored resource needs a custom cookie specification, you can define them using the model: key=value

Possibility of choosing between different user-agent strings

When the monitoring agent of the service opens a page to search in, there is a string called "User-Agent" that determines the users browser. For example Internet Explorer is using "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)". Depending on User-Agent some sites shows different information (aca cloacking).

Private, system, user defined and shared URL groups

The idea of URL groups is to unite certain URLs with common information and help you to monitor them. When you create one URL group you can define either to be private or public. The public URL groups will be visible to all other users of TheWebWatcher. System URL groups are URL resources that are predefined by the authors of TheWebWatcher, grouped in different topics.

Time zones support

All changes are tracked in your local time zone.

No software needed on your computer

TheWebWatcher is a web-based service and the whole monitoring process is accomplished on our server, including downloads of the pages and tracking for changes.

Watch RSS/RDF feeds

TheWebWatcher has extended watch-system to track differences and keyword related content in RSS/RDF feeds.
